When I am at my best, I identify my top three priorities for the following day before I close down my computer and leave my office.
If I don’t have three priorities already identified from the night before, guess what I start the day doing? Getting lost in my overnight email. And I mean lost. Because I get distracted easily, I can lose an hour before I even know what time it is. However… …
With a clear focus on previously identified priorities, I actually tackle my highest priority item BEFORE I check my email. It’s amazing how good I feel when I do that.
